Todd Faulkner
Executive Director
|
The Arc of Grays Harbor is pleased to announce the installment of its new Executive Director, Todd Faulkner. Mr. Faulkner brings to the Arc many years of Executive and Management experience in the Portland/Vancouver area specializing in the needs, services and employment of individuals with disabilities. He also brings entrepreneurial vision and business experience to the Arc through his lifetime of self-employment and for-profit work in the manufacturing industry.
Interestingly enough, the move to Grays Harbor brings Todd full circle with this area, as he and his family moved from Portland to Ocean Shores in 1992 with Fandrich Piano Company. The Faulkner family spent five years in Copalis Beach, spending much time in ministry at the Copalis Beach Community Church. After employment ended with Fandrich Piano Company, Todd worked construction in the Grays Harbor and Olympia areas, continuing his education at Puget Sound Christian College and his ministry opportunities in Copalis Beach. Todd and his family moved back to the Portland/Vancouver in 1997 to be closer to his wife’s family and to seek other employment. Returning to this area is a fulfillment of Todd’s dream to come back to the Harbor and the people in this area who have captured his heart. He is excited to bring vision, passion, empathy and understanding to serving all people with disabilities in the Grays Harbor area. The Arc greatly looks forward to benefiting from Todd’s enthusiasm, education, vision, and impressive work experience in fighting for the rights of people with disabilities.

Information and Resource Director

I came to The Arc over five years ago through a temporary program for "on the job" training and never left. The Arc fit me and my life like a snug glove. I'm a single mom to a teenage son with developmental delays and The Arc has been a great learning experience and has made a significant difference in our lives.
My vision has become one of someday seeing communities that are totally inclusive, with all people working, living, and socializing on equal levels. Where people accept people for who they are and respect is given naturally. It may not happen in my lifetime, but it is my dream that my son is part of that community in his lifetime.

Loretta Marlow
Family and Transition Specialist
|
During the week I work at Hoquiam High School as the Transition Facilitator. The students in the Transition Program learn job related skills, first in the classroom then in placements around the community. My greatest thrill is when I "bump" into one of my former students and they tell about the job they have and how their life is going.
I believe that all people with or without disabilities want to be as independent as their circumstances allow. What that looks like may not be the same for each of us. We all should have the right to choose where and who we live with. We should have the right to work in a job that fulfills us, and to spend our free time in activities we enjoy.
My passion has become the area of School to Work. I see the sense of accomplishment that attaining a job and succeeding at that job brings. When a person has a job to go to, their world expands. They build relationships with coworkers and customers or clients. There is a real sense of belonging when employees are included in the social networking of the workplace. That, in my opinion, is the success of Community Integration.

Tori Board
Program Director
|
It was with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to Crystal Reed, Program and Volunteer Director and wished her all the best with her future journeys. We knew she was leaving some pretty big shoes to fill, especially in light of the fact we were heading to Special Olympics State Games. Tori joined The Arc staff as Program Director with 3 days to prepare for a 2 day trip to Ft.
Lewis with over 50 athletes, coaches and volunteers. What better way to start a new job!! As it was, Tori came through it all unscathed. She handled the chaos with what seemed to be an easy, positive attitude and a warm, friendly smile that made the transition a smooth one for everyone. Please join The Arc in welcoming Tori Board and her family to our community and to The Arc family as Program Director. She will be a great addition to
the organization and its’ mission.
