Your leadership, experience and passion could help lead The Arc of Grays Harbor to expand and accomplish our mission of “advocating for a better quality of life for people with disabilities”.
By joining our governing board of directors, you will help set our policy, our budget, oversee the finances and appoint (through the board’s President) our Executive Director.
Our organization benefits from the wisdom and insights provided from people with a broad range of backgrounds, including yours.
Our organization is unique in that our bylaws require our board of directors also to include people with disabilities on the board, in keeping with the philosophy of “nothing about us, without us”.
Our Board of Directors meetings are the third Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to (no later than) 7:30. We currently meet over Zoom, but under normal circumstances we meet at The Arc of Grays Harbor office at 523 West First Street, Aberdeen WA 98520.
Our board is a fun group, and there are many opportunities to volunteer or through the committees, engage in interesting ways.
The Arc of Grays Harbor is a membership organization, and dues are currently $10 for an individual or $30 for a family.
Every board member is required to be a member of the organization. Board Members also must pass a DSHS background check because we work with vulnerable adults.
